Just have to mention how many Nodaks that are down here in the cities. My band is always amazed because of the Bismarckers that I introduce them to when we are out performing. It's really cool to have so many hometown friends down here. 

If any of you are down here on March 1st, we are opening a special night of music at The Minnesota Music Cafe. The Dean Weisser opens for Jimi Jamison, (Survivor) "High on You", "The Search is Over", "I Can't Hold Back", at The Benefit for Herb Brooks Foundation. It's gonna be a great night.

On behalf of The Dean Weisser Band, I just wanted to wish everyone Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and all the best for 2013.

I was just back in town over Thanksgiving, and I couldn't believe how vibrant downtown is! We took a tour of some of the new spots and some of the old and the town was jumpin'! Very cool to see all those people hanging out downtown. 

Always great to see old friends as well. If you come down to the cities, say hi!

We have a busy summer ahead down here in Mpls. We have a busy schedule all over the metro area and are working on a weekend back there in Bismarck as well. My band is always amazed at how many people from North Dakota and Bismarck there are down here. They show up at every show, and we appreciate the support.

We have a new female singer in the band. Her name is Heather Hunter and she rocks! We'll be bringing her to Bismarck soon.

It's a bit bittersweet because we are having a memorial for my brother Tom on the afternoon of the 13th. But let's spend the evening celebrating with music and fun in his honor!

After we got hit with 17" of snow, equipment trailers not being able to make it, and musicians getting snowed in, we formed a band to play the event with musicians that could make it and my equipment. The band consisted of Derek St. Holmes, Jimi Jamison, Frank Stallone, Dean Weisser, Mark Hoyt, and Mark Johnson. We played the whole night, had a great time, great crowd and raised thousands of dollars for Scott. It was a night I won't forget! What a blast!

It's been a busy spring. The band has finished all the recording of the new CD, "Back in the Day". The CD was recorded at my studio, (Brown Derby Productions) and The Institute of Production and Recording, (Downtown Minneapolis). Now we are mixing at First Generation Recording Studio in Minnetonka. There are 14 tracks on the new album and it has a few different styles on it. We do a few covers, but most of it is original. We are very excited about the project! Also looking forward to coming home to Bismarck on July 9 & 10 and appearing at Captain Freddy's. Looking forward to seeing you all!

Hope everyone is well. Just wanted to share some news... The DWB is very excited to be coming to Bismarck this summer. We will be playing at Captain Freddy's (outdoors), on July 9-10. We are hoping to have the new CD on sale then and are looking forward to seeing all of you back in Bismarck. It's always great to be back in the hometown.

You all are the best and I really had a blast seeing friends and family. It was so cool that my daughters and brother all made the trip as well.

Back to work on the CD. I did get to record some of it at Makoche while I was there!

I had plans of getting back to Bismarck, but in August alone, we have 13 gigs, so my plans are on hold.

With my other full time job at KARE-11, my freelance audio jobs and performing with other artists, it's been hard to get any recording done. Someday, the new CD will be finished.

Famous Dave's BBQ & Blues Festival marks the milestone “fifth annual” mark with a lineup of outstanding live blues on two stages, and the event is outdoors and free. The Fifth Annual Famous Dave’s BBQ & Blues Festival is Saturday, June 13, 2009 from Noon to 10:30 p.m. on Peavey Plaza at 11th and Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis. Ten acts will perform throughout the day, including Main Stage stars Tinsley Ellis, Bernard Allison, Ana Popovic, Big Daddy Cade’s Tribute to B.B. King, Shannon Curfman and Levee Town. The Juke Joint stage will feature very special acoustic sets by Corey Stevens, plus Nikki & The RueMates, The Dean Weisser Band and Brandon Scott Sellner. 

The good news is, The DWB has been able to keep pretty busy. We have some great gigs coming up. We will be playing some new venues, including Bayside on Lake Minnetonka, and we will be performing at The Famous Dave's Blues Festival in Peavy Plaza in Downtown Minneapolis. I have also been working with some other great artists down here, The Rhythm Junkies and MJ Kroll.

We have been doing some recording and soon will have some new music for you all to hear.

The band is busy as ever and we trying to get the CD finished that we planned on finishing in June. With the real jobs and playing 3 nights a week most weeks, it's hard to get it done.

My good friend, Mark Knoll, did however get his CD done and it sounds great! Hope you all pick one up. In my eyes he is one of the best guitar players on the planet.

I am hoping to get back to Bismarck in January or February to play with Richard at one of the local venues.

It's looking to be a busy summer. The band has 30 some shows between now and the end of August, we have been doing TV appearances, interviews, finishing the DVD, (DWB / Celebrating 10 Years), recording the CD, (DWB / Back in the Day) and learning new material.

I am really looking forward to coming home for Blues Fest West 2, playing with Richard Torrance again and seeing all my old friends. It's always a blast to come home. Hope to see you all out there!
