Up next week is 2 nights of Motor Magic at Nodak Speedway and then possibly Jamestown Speedway for the 2 nights of the Stock Car Stampede.  In those 25 nights Steven has had plenty of seat time between the Modified (20 nights), Latemodel (8 nights) and the #14 Stock Car (7 nights). 7 WINS, 19 top 5 and 25 top 10.

Steven was on the track 5 times between the 2 cars. First race was the latemodel make up feature from the rained out Governers race, which he finished 9th. Then on to the regular nights races. Finished third in Mod heat and 2nd in the Latemodel heat. Latemodel feature was up first and the #11 finished  8th. Mod feature brought another win for the season even with a broken left upper control arm and right rear shock after jumping over the edge of the track on the front stretch a few too many times.

]]> Correy Fri, 20 Aug 2010 05:10:42 +0100 Nodak Opener through NLRA tour http://www.bismanlive.com/race/members/3 Nodak Speedway finally got back to racing now that the amazing new grandstands is completed. On opening night finished 1st in the heat and then took home the trophy in the feature.

Dacotah speedway in Mandan held the makeup feature from the Governer's race rained out the week before. The #11 managed to come across the line in 2nd even with a broken left tie-rod. In the regular nights action Steven tallied up another heat race win. Feature was started 6th row outside and come checkered flag he had moved up to 4th.

NLRA tour started in Jamestown this past Saturday and at 2:30 Saturday Steven decided to make the trip to get in some racing. Ended up being a decent decision as he finished first in his heat and 2nd in the feature.

NLRA tour night 2 was back home and the mods ran also. The #11 modified took home the heat win and ended up 4th in a lap shortened feature as they went over the time limit. In the latemodel Steven didn't fair so well finishing 4th in the heat and 11th in the feature. It was a night of VERY rough driving by a lot of the participants with a lot of torn up equipment. So though 11th is not an ideal finishing position, just finishing this race was an accomplishment.
The Williston and Dickinson portions of the tour were skipped to get some farming done but the final night in Mandan both cars should be in action as they are also having the make up feature for the latemodels from the Governors Race.

]]> Karen Abrahamson Wed, 11 Aug 2010 14:53:17 +0100 Governor's Stock Car Classic http://www.bismanlive.com/race/members/3 The ND Governor's Stock Car Classic was held this past weekend at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan. The only true winner of the weekend was Mother Nature. Saturday nights show was postponed until Sunday afternoon after only getting in a few heat races due to HEAVY rain. Mid-afternoon is not the best time to race but surprisingly the track crew provided a fairly racey track. Steven's modified heat race was the first race onto the track for the day. Steven had the fasted lap of the race at 66.891 MPH on his way to winning the heat. The first Latemodel heat race onto the track had a battle of the #11's as it was a battle with Jeremy Keller for most of the race. Keller was able to pull ahead leaving Steven to place second.

Come feature time the track was pretty rubbered up with not alot of passing. In the Modified race the #11 was up front the whole race and ended up coming across the line in 3rd. The Latemodel race only lasted a few laps for Steven as he was caught up in a spin. Though there was no real visible damage to the car it became apparent upon the restart that there were issues when Steven flew off of corner 3 with no brakes ending his race.

 

Sunday's portion of the show got started about an hour late which ultimately caused the NONE of the features to be able to be run before the races were called due to severe storms coming through. In the Modified heat race Steven finished 2nd and in the Latemodel heat race he finished 3rd.

Up next is Nodak Speedway's opening night. FINALLY back on our home track.

]]> Karen Abrahamson Sat, 31 Jul 2010 05:41:47 +0100 2010 Dakota Classic Tour Wrap Up http://www.bismanlive.com/race/members/3 The LONG week of racing wrapped up Friday night at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, ND. Steven raced 7 nights since he pulled double duty running both the Mod and #14 Fyllsvold Stock Car. The Stock Car brought a couple of feature wins - Mandan on the 11th and Dickinson on the 15th. While there are no feature win trophies added to the collection, Steven made the feature in all but 1 of the nights he was on the tour with the Mod. With 70+ cars at all stops of the tour making the features was an achievement in it self. The #14 Stock Car ended up 7th in points for the week and the #11 ended up 13th in the Modified points.

Dacotah Speedway and the North Dakota Governor's Stock Car Classic is probably our next stop on July 31st/August 1st. Both the Modified and Latemodel will be in action.

Sunday is at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, Tuesday/Wednesday at Basin Speedway in Williston, Thursday at Southwest Speedway in Dickinson and then back to Mandan to wrap up the tour. Last year Steven won the Tour race in Dickinson. Hopefully this year he can pick up another Tour win. Last years tour win makes Steven elligable for the IMCA SuperNationals All Star voting. ]]> Correy Fri, 09 Jul 2010 03:04:43 +0100 River Cities Speedway 6/19 & 20 http://www.bismanlive.com/race/members/3 The rain won Friday nights races and changed the show from a Friday/Saturday show to a Saturday/Sunday show. It also managed to make for a rough track for the rest of the weekend. Saturday night saw the #11 finishing 2nd in the heat and 9th in the feature. Sunday wasn't much better track conditions. Unable to move forward in the heat and finished where started in 6th sending Steven to the B-Main. Not a lot of passing was done in the B either but started 3rd and was able to move to 2nd. That was good enough to move on the A Main and the #11 started 22nd. Steven was able to do some passing in the A and made it up to 9th by the time the checkered flag flew.

Up next is Red River Valley Speedway on Wednesday with the Mod and Latemodel.

With a good field of cars on hand there were 4 heats of IMCA Modifieds. According to the line up board Steven was supposed to start inside the 3rd row but the 2 cars that were supposed to be in front of him apparently opted to start at the back leaving him starting on the pole. He easily finished first in the heat. The feature saw him start outside row 2. At the drop of the green Steven found himself in 3rd place. After a few early yellows the race ran caution free until the final lap, the whole time Steven holding on to the 3rd position while the leaders worked there way through lapped traffic. With a Green/White/Checker finish Steven managed to hold the 3rd position up until the end.

Basin Speedway is on the schedule for tomorrow, June 12th.

]]> Correy Sat, 29 May 2010 06:08:28 +0100 Basin Speedway - Williston, ND May 22, 2010 http://www.bismanlive.com/race/members/3 Correy Thu, 27 May 2010 05:30:27 +0100 1st Race of Season - Williston http://www.bismanlive.com/race/members/3 Went to Williston on Saturday to finally get the first race of the season in.  In the first lap of the heat race ending up getting tangled within a 3-car pile up after coming in hot to turn 4.  Ran the B-main and took 1st to transfer to the feature.  Within 5 laps of the feature gained five spots after starting 17th.  Advanced to 7th when 3 wide turned into a bunt off the back straight away.  Went into the pit and got the tire changed, but with 3 laps to go the damage was too much to continue so again headed for the pit.  Almost done farming so hopefully the weather holds to finish this week so the weekends can be filled with racing.    

]]> Karen Abrahamson Thu, 27 May 2010 05:31:48 +0100 Spring Racing http://www.bismanlive.com/race/members/3 The cars move in the Dakota Square Mall this week!  The lettering is almost complete on both the mod & the latemodel.  Cars will be in the mall from Wednesday - Saturday (April 21 - 24th).  Saturday, May 1 we hope to hit Dacotah Speedway to stir up some dust and get some practice in before the upcoming May 7 race at the track.  That weekend also brings the first double header in Williston. 

Pfeifer Racing Apparel is in the makings and we will have it in the trailer just as soon as everything arrives! 

 

]]> Karen Abrahamson Sun, 18 Apr 2010 19:49:18 +0100 Florida Wrap Up!!!! http://www.bismanlive.com/race/members/3 Pfeifer Racings first trek to Florida wraps up with Mother Nature again winning on the final night of racing. On the nights that the cars were able to hit the track, Steven had some good runs. Of the 9 nights he was on the track he made the A Main 6 times. One night 5th, one 8th and no further back than 16th the other nights. The competition in Florida is some of the best drivers in the country including names like: Kenny Schrader, Kenny Wallace, Clint Bowyer, Jason Hughes and Jared Landers. 

This trip couldn't have been possible without the great support of Pfeifer Racing's great sponsors, crew and family.

After taking in some Nascar action this week it is back to the frozen tundra and plan out the rest of the season.
